In ancient indian literature maya is described as power or the principle that conceals the true character of spiritual reality. In todays context, in this kalyug, the maya has taken the centre stage. Life and its constituents are often linked to the possessions you have, the possessions you earned and yes the possessions you boasts of. Its the comparison drawn by the society on the quality of life based on these possessions.
Life has become a meaningless monetary chest, which goes on till there is new additions to this chest, which may come to a standstill when there ceases to be any significant addition.
Humans as we are, compete against each other to satisfy the maya inside us. Not realising that maya according to the same ancient indian texts also means the powerful magic of the asuras.
Money can buy you most of the things, but can money buy you happiness? Probably most of us might think yes it does!
Level of maturity of people have declined as the cranial size during evolution. Man tend to believe that the temporary adrenaline rush they derive at getting a new possesion is happiness. But my dear friends, happiness is not mere such a rush. Happiness has a larger meaning, happiness is not materialistic, happiness is not variable. True happiness is like early morning pure air, not polluted by the petty shackles of materialism. The same morning air where trees sways, birds chirps and temple bell rings.
I'll tell you a story of dude and dev.
Dude has all the materilistic possession, he boasts of latest gadgets, coolest clothes, sexy footwear and a lot of money to buy anything he wish like.
On the other hand dev is a simple guy with basic devices, manegable clothes and footwear to keep his feet covered.
Now there is no comparison between these guys. Both are happy in their own capacity. One is happy buying adrenaline rush through his spendings, other is happy with his limited resources.
Now let me put both these guys in the ancient era. Who do you think will be more distressed than satisfied?
The obvious answer is dude
The point I am trying to highlight through this story is that happiness lies within, Search it deep inside you, rather on the superficial rags.
Do not necessarily be a religious person but, do be a spiritual person. Spirituality comes from within. Spirituality comes as a saviour, to know yourself and the world even more
And when you know all the secrets of life, thats when you stop being materialistic.you get to understand the bigger meaning to your life than those i phones, rolex, gucci or even merc for that matter.
The happiness you get at discovering the strengths and qualities you have, thats not at all expressable in these words.
Mere recognition of these strengths and qualities gives you immense pleasure and happiness. But its the uncomparable satisfaction you get when you invest these strengths in improving lives of needy.
No creature in this world is small enough to escape your notice. Help those who are weakened by the shackles of the society, and free them to horizon, let them rise like a new morning
And believe me this morning would be the best you had in life.
