UP ELECTIONS

It was one of the best elections i had seen since 2000.The people of Up had a mandate for a particular party. They wanted to throw the corrupt Mayawati government out of power. It was to be a close fight b/w the SP and the congress. Both the parties had done miserably bad in the last assembly elections with the former managing to get only 102 seats and the latter with a poor tally of 22 seats. But this time the situation was different and the anti incumbency factor was in favour of the congress, Sp, and BJP. The congress had the most extensive campaign with their high profile leaders including the prince of congress rahul Gandhi taking part. He was the face of the campaign and was the projected chief minister. But there was another man called akhilesh yadav ready to face the challenge of the Gandhis and make his party victorious in the UP elections. Rahul criticized him kept on speaking anti akhilesh and anti SP slogans but couldn’t succeed in their intentions as SP won the elections on its own strength and came into power. They secured around 230 seats and had clear majority to form a government.

The mistakes according to me made by the congress in UP was that they had no basic policy for the people and kept on talking on religious and caste grounds. I would like to congratulate the people of UP for lifting up from religion and castism and vote in favour of policy makers and for the policy of development, education, infrastructure. E.t.c. I am not a big supporter of SP but this time i loved the way how young akhilesh came forward and fought against the odds. This election was a gift from akhilesh to his father Mulayam. Mulayalam wouldnt even have dreamt of such an emphatic win over the others.

THE DEMONETISATION DILEMMA

It was around 8 at night, people were returning home after office, TV was switched on as usual, PM was speaking at prime time, it was thought to be an usual political speech that our PM tend to give. But, minutes later masses realised that PM was announcing that 85% of cash in our hands will turn just pieces of paper after midnight.
